What Causes Hair Loss… and the Solutions

Diane Berson, MD, of Weill Cornell Medical College in New York City, gives us a glimmer of hope by saying, “In many cases, the problem of hair loss is completely treatable.” Get to know the cause, and there is a great chance you can help your hair.  Besides Male pattern baldness, lets look at some reasons you may be losing your hair.

Cause # 1 Anemia
The reason hair loss can occur: A lack of iron can reduce the levels of red blood cells in your blood. These conditions will affect the health of the hair follicle.

Solutions: Take iron supplements coupled with vitamin C as a supporter, in order to take in maximum iron absorption.

Cause # 2 In certain medical treatment
The reason hair loss can occur: The side effects of taking antidepressants, diuretics, or pills can make our hair fall out.

Solution: Adjust the dose of drugs you consume, and try to find other alternative medicines. However, do check with your doctor first.

Cause # 3 Hypo or hyperthyroid
The reason hair loss can occur: The state of unbalanced hormone levels will improve the body’s natural chemicals, namely DHT which will “attack” our hair follicles.

Solution: Using prescription drugs that could help restore your thyroid hormone level to normal or healthy.

Cause # 4 low-fat diet
The reason hair loss can occur: If you starve yourself or go on crash diets, this could cause hairloss. Not only that, an unhealthy diet will also lead to fatigue, dehydration and cramps.

Solution: Fill your weight-loss program with an adequate daily intake of protein. Protein is very important and gives us nutrients to make our hair healthy.

Cause # 5 Stress
The reason hair loss can occur: a high level of stress will make the hair follicles become inactive or attacked by white blood cells, and the results can lead to hair loss.

Solution: Perform relaxation such as yoga, meditation, therapy, and others. And, as much as possible to avoid excessive stress and try to relax.
