How to Re-grow Thinning Hair Naturally

How to Re-grow Thinning Hair Naturally

There are natural hair loss remedies that work on people who want to grow their hair back. Many people prefer to use the natural way, since it is very organic, practical, and takes out the inconvenience of going through expensive hair loss treatments. Here are some suggestions to get rid of hair loss using herbs that can easily be found at your home, or at local organic stores.

Henna can be used as a natural conditioner for the hair. It is a traditional Indian herb that repairs and seals the hair cuticle. This will protect the hair from breakage and will make your hair shine. Adding mashed beetroot leaves with the henna paste can be used as a treatment. Aloe Vera can also be used to promote healthy hair. The best kind to use is the one straight from the plant, and not Aloe Vera based pills or creams/lotions. It can heal any damages or irritations you have on your scalp, balance its pH level, and clean the scalp pores at the same time. It could be prepared by slicing the leafy part of the stem, and applying the gel or liquid of this plant directly to the scalp and hair. Other preparation includes mixing it with a slight amount of wheat germ oil and coconut milk. This can be used as a shampoo and will give great benefits for your hair.

You could also try massaging your hair with jojoba oil. This type of oil is traditionally used to promote hair growth, and get rid of dandruff as well. It can act as a great moisturizer for your hair and scalp. Massage your scalp well to stimulate blood flow to your hair follicles. This can help to encourage hair growth. There are electric massagers on the market that are specially designed for hair growth purposes. These equipments can help you if you prefer not to use your hands.

The red pepper can be mixed with a bit of water and applied directly to your scalp, especially on the places where your hair is thinning out. What the pepper does is it releases histamines in your scalp. Histamines can alter cell partition, and stimulate hair follicle development. Also, try boiling rosemary and sage together. Strain the herbs from the water after boiling, and the mixture can be used to rinse your hair after shampooing.

Take Action to Stop Men’s Hair Loss

If you’re looking for effective methods to stop men’s hair loss, you should take some time to understand the cause of the condition before blindly looking for treatment options.  Educate yourself and your efforts to stop and restore hair loss will be much more successful.

The main cause for hair loss in men is genetic and occurs when a hormone called dihydrotestosteron or DHT is over produced.  When too much of this hormone is produced, it travels to the scalp and grabs onto the hair follicles.  When this happens, the hair follicles cannot absorb nutrients from the bloodstream.  Essentially, DHT slowly chokes the life from your hair, causing it to die.  The results will range from thinning hair to total baldness.

If you have a large portion of bare scalp exposed, you are likely in the advanced stages of men’s hair loss.  This will likely mean your options for stopping and reversing the process are extremely limited.  In most cases of total baldness, the best treatment option is surgical hair restoration.

However, if you have caught the process in the early or middle stages and still have plenty of hair to work with, you can take advantage of treatments that are formulated to block the production of DHT and allow nutrients to reach the hair follicles before the die.

One of the methods used to block DHT is with the drug finasteride. In the marketplace, this drug is known as Propecia.  It works by inhibiting the enzyme (5-alpha reductase) that converts testosterone to DGT.   While there is a very high success rate with this drug, up to 83%, there are some risks of serious sexual side effects associated with its use.  Saw Palmetto is the natural alternative to finasteride, working much the same way but without the risk of side effects.

Another common treatment that’s used to stop hair loss in men is minoxidil.  This topical treatment is marketed under the name “Rogaine”, but there are some generic versions that are every bit as effective.  Studies show that daily use of a 5% minoxidil treatment can deliver success rates of approximately 64%.  When this treatment is used along with a quality DHT blocker, success rates can be much higher.

Studies have also found that a deficiency in certain nutrients, such as vitamin B6, zinc, biotin, and magnesium can also contribute to hair loss in men.  With the right treatment and nutrients, it’s possible to stop men’s hair loss dead in its tracks.

Has Greame Souness Had A Hair Transplant?

So in our long line of looking at celebrity hair transplants, our focus today turns to Greame Souness.  The former Liverpool and Rangers star looks like something has definitely helped him out in the hair department.

In his playing days, Souness was the captain of the Liverpool team of the early 1980s and also player-manager of Rangers as well as the captain of Scotland.  In what was a long career, he also played for Tottenham Hotspur, Middlesbrough and Sampdoria.

Following his retirement from playing he worked as a manager, with, amongst others Rangers, Liverpool and Newcastle United.

Souness now does media work and for Sky Sports and that’s where we have really noticed the change in his hair.

So what’s he had done?  We can, most likely rule out a wig…or can we?  Surely the tough, combative midfielder and feared manager wouldn’t wear a rug…would he? You can see from the photos online that the top of his hair doesn’t seem to blend in properly with the side of his hair, so we guess a toupee of some kind can’t be ruled out.

Also, Souness has had this hair since the mid 90’s which makes it hard for us to believe he had a hair transplant dating back this far.

Could some kind of topical treatment like Rogaine/Regaine be the reason that Souness has re-grew his hair.  Well, some people are better responders than others so, theoretically, this is possible.

Given the timeline of his hair and the possible options open to him, were going to bite the bullet and say that Souness must be wearing a wig!

What else can it be?  Nearly 20 years after displaying major signs of hair loss, Souness has, instead of progressing to a Norwood 3, or 4, gone to a solid norwood 2.  Tell us what you think?
